A company designed typefaces and fonts against the largest Internet Service Provider in Romania in relation to copyright infringement claim regarding a specific typeface the client developed
Alpha Bank in EUIPO opposition proceedings, for the protection of the portfolio
Rio Bucovina (part of the Maspex Group), one of the largest mineral water bottling companies in Romania, in a high-profile unfair advertising dispute against a close competitor in relation to an aggressive marketing campaign of the latter
Ursus Breweries (Asahi group) on a series of complex trademark licensing and distribution contracts to be concluded with the Efes Group in relation to several core beer brands including Efes and Timişoreana, in several jurisdictions
Successfully represented Sensiblu (A&D Pharma group) in a litigation involving complex aspects regarding the ownership of the notorious Sensiblu trademark
Sculptor Mihai Buculei on the drafting and negotiations of an IP related agreement concluded with the Ministry of Culture and National Identity for the purpose of achieving the Monument of the Great Unification
Successfully represented the most important Hollywood studios, including Paramount Pictures Corporation, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, Universal City Studios Productions, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Columbia Pictures and Warner Bros. Entertainment in the first site blocking case which has ever been tried in Central and Eastern Europe, by suing internet service providers with the aim of blocking pirate movies websites
Successfully represented Regina Maria in a series of cases initiated against its close competitor on grounds of unfair competition through social media tools, corroborated with copyright and trademark infringement, as well as false advertising. The case opens interesting legal debates on assessing brand value and proving dishonest intent in commercial practices between close competitors on niche markets and sets a new enforcement trend in light of the realities of the digital era.
Successfully representing Ursus Breweries (UB) before EUIPO in legal proceedings against an international spirits producer aimed at cancelling the registration by the latter of a trademark which blocked the client from selling of its main beer brand (Ursus) outside Romania in other EU countries. As a result, UB can now start selling its core brand to millions of Romanians living in the EU.
Successfully assisted Bookster, the most innovative privately held public library in Romania, in a claim related to unfair competition filed by the majority of publishing houses in Romania (over 10 claimants)
